Pierre CASELLAS

Now retired, Pierre Casellas Doctor of Sciences, Graduate of a State Doctorate and qualified to direct research, worked for more than 35 years in the field of medical research at Sanofi. An expert in Oncology and Immunology, Pierre first headed the Immunology Research Department and then was the International Director of the Oncology Research Department. Manager of multidisciplinary teams (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology in vitro and in vivo), he guided research programs from the identification of new targets to the entry into development of drug candidates. He has implemented new approaches such as phenotypic screening, deorphaning and transcriptomics in research programs. He is a specialist in GPCR receptors (signalling and cross talk), immunotoxins, biology and tumor immunology. Pierre Casellas contributed to the identification, characterization and marketing of 3 drugs and to the entry into development of around twenty molecules (First in class compounds) in the fields of inflammation, auto pathologies -immune or cancer.
