Olivier CASAMITJANA

Member of Eurobiomed since 2019. An engineer by training in biological sciences, Olivier Casamitjana has acquired 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Successively at Pfizer and Solvay-Fournier, Olivier worked in the areas of assay development, high-throughput screening and sample asset management. Then he worked at Sanofi for 10 years. He was project manager of large automated stores for compound management and the implementation of a LIMS to manage inventories, workflows and robotic interfaces. Olivier Casamitjana was the global coordinator of the Sanofi compounds management group, notably in charge of strategy and key partnership by leading the Toulouse Sample Management group for 8 years. Then, Olivier followed an MBA program from Toulouse Business School and managed, as deputy, a technological and translational platform (Integrated Drug Discovery), aimed at developing external business. In 2015, Olivier joined Evotec and took responsibility for the screening and compound management department of Evotec France. Since then, he has been part of the senior management team responsible for company strategy. In January 2017, he became SVP global head of Sample management in charge of business development. He manages the operation spread over 6 sites with the help of more than a hundred employees. Innovation has always been a key driver of Olivier’s career development. He supported the installation of key equipment, technology, process improvement with acoustic tubes as the latest example. An active member of ELRIG and SLAS since 1999, Olivier was elected president of Elrigfr (European Laboratory Robotics Interest Group – Francophone) in 2013.
